Physical Description
Will is a tall black woman with very dark eyes, very dark skin and shaved hair. She mixes a preference for masculine clothing with a taste for very feminine jewelry, which tends to confuse people sometimes, especially when you take into consideration her shaved head and the fact that while she's thin and thus not exactly curvy, she certainly does have hips and breasts. She prefers not to wear makeup, as her job makes it impractical.

Will is a calm, rational person – working in the emergency room in one of London's larger hospitals demands that quality in a person. She has the sometimes unfortunate tendency to adopt things – people, animals, objects – and thanks to her amiable nature, has a lot of friends in social services who help her get support for the people she adopts, and a couple of friends who work with the animal protection people. She does get a little irritated when people assume she's a guy dressing as a girl, but tends to be fairly tolerant of people. She will not be tolerant of anyone racist, sexist or prejudiced.

Will was born on December 1st, 1973, in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan. Her parents moved them to England when Will was seven, so while she speaks English fluently, she also speaks Arabic, the official language of Sudan, and some Nubian, although she's far from fluent in the latter.
Will read Bram Stoker's Dracula when she was eleven, and promptly decided that she was going to be the opposite of the fictional Wilhelmina Murray. She persuaded her parents to call her Will instead of Mina, and upon entering secondary school went by that name. She was always a tomboyish girl, keeping her hair short and preferring trousers to skirts and dresses, although she did still enjoy feminine jewelry.
Will entered medical school when she was seventeen, promptly after completing secondary school. She specialised in immune disorders, but is also capable of performing some surgeries – complex heart surgery and neurosurgery are right out, but she can remove an infected appendix or take out a bullet, for example.
She has been working in London since finishing medical school, often doing fairly long hours and swapping shifts with the doctors who have families in London.
Her parents moved back to Africa in 2004 and live in Durbanville with her younger sister's family.
