It was going to be a very pleasant family reunion!

Éogan Ó Bia moved south, back to Achill Island, but his daughter Sinann, after marrying a local angel, one of the few left on the island, attempted to move back to Tory Island after their three girls were old enough to handle such a trip. Sinann had been away for centuries.

None of them made it.

After becoming overeager on their trip back home, Sinann decided that the family ought to take a holiday. So they crossed the sea to Scotland with every intention to take the young girls to London. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to make it out of the country.

Something caught them, couldn't kill them. An ancient part of the landscape, a girl who realized what she had and pulled five unconscious bodies into her glen. At first they managed to escape but she caught Dearbháil and ensnared the others easily when they came back. Now they are kept as fuel for someone who views them as nothing more than prey. They are too weak to escape and too weak to fight. After three years of no food, water, sleep or freedom, you would be, too.

Hesther Devise doesn't know what she is. The concept of knowing doesn't exist anymore, anyway. All she understands are her survival instincts. She knows when she's hungry and she knows that the things she caught in her glen give her energy unlike any of the others. She eats the others. The five shining things wouldn't die.

Three years has left the angels in a state of absolute non-existence. They are too weak to even cross over. They have lost absolutely everything that could save them, as Hesther continuously feeds off of their energy, draining them of their angelic powers. This isn't natural. It has created a rift in the bubble of the magic layer, generating a black hole, so to speak. A vortex that sends shockwaves of confusion through the generally small supernatural world.

If only it wasn't shockwaves of confusion.

In 2007, the intensity of the bizarre situation began to wreak havoc on the supernatural creatures around the epicenter in Scotland. The closer one got, the less controlled one's powers became. Even homes (especially connected to bridges) were destroyed.

And then the dead began to return. Not in corporeal form, but in ghostly forms. The more recent dead, spanning the last couple of decades, showed up in homes, hospitals, street corners and buildings. Most people could see them, some people could not. These dead were confined to the area in which they died, some more restricted than others, and had no way to cross back over.

Because of this additional complication, a small group of supernatural beings decided to investigate. They first set out in 2007 and came to the conclusion that the problem originates somewhere in Scotland, but were unprepared for the situation and could not get any further.

Months later, an urgent need to correct the situation arose, and a new group was off again. This time, their exploration was successful. Bearing the weight of a loss of control, they managed to find the cave in which Hesther lived and rescued the five angels, who now remain in five comas in quiet rooms in a hospital in England.

The dead are now slowly returning, the atmosphere fixing the break. It will take weeks but will ultimately be corrected.
