Detailed Information
Physical Description
Scott is tall and somewhat stocky; while he's a little out of shape, he's still relatively fit and strong. His Italian heritage is fairly obvious in his colouring; he has slightly darker skin, dark eyes and black hair that tends to curl if he lets it get too long. He's relatively good-looking, although self-effacing enough that it's not always readily apparent.
Personal Information
Scott is a quiet man who, all things considers, would much rather run his bookstore and be left alone. He's the Nice Guy who apparently always finishes last; sweet, chivalrous, and charming, although he's frankly lost when it comes to romance. He's a very devout Catholic, with an overdeveloped sense of guilt, and is the type to bring a hurt snake home and get confused when it bites him. He's intelligent, but very boyish. He tends towards melancholy at times, depending on circumstances.
Backstory
Scott's mother was the youngest of an old Italian family, and when she fell in love with, and subsequently fell pregnant to, a sailor named Gregorio Zabini, naturally her parents were outraged. She gave the baby up for adoption rather than be disowned, and the baby boy was adopted by Theodore and Savina Laurence.
When Savina died, three years after adopting the child, Theodore and Scott moved to England, where Theodore had old friends living in Blackburn. By that time he'd noticed Scott's tendency to remember everything, but he simply chalked it up to individual peculiarities and thought nothing more of it.
Scott was always a quiet child, more studious than playful, and his memory remained preternaturally good throughout primary school. People would sometimes question him about it, or ask him to repeat back things he'd read weeks ago, although Theodore put a stop to this as soon as he found out, declaring that his son was not a circus act.
Theodore died when Scott was eleven, and Scott was put into foster care and weekly hypnotherapy sessions. He never really trusted Dr. Reinhart, his therapist, and started having adverse reactions to the therapy; headaches, bad dreams and unclear memories of the therapy itself, which was odd considering his perfect memory in other respects.
Scott left Blackburn when he was nineteen, buying a small bookstore in London. His life was essentially fairly quiet, until the day Derek came back to London and inadvertently murdered Gabriel Thorne. That mostly just sucked, except for the part where at least he got to see his quasi-brother Derek again. And, after all the hullabaloo that followed, including a lot of personal mental anguish and trauma, he got to go back to Blackburn and propose to Aingeal, who graciously accepted.
