Originally a family of Londoners; those of them who moved to America knocked the 's' off the family name. Why? Who knows. It just happened that way. They now consider themselves Americans considering it's been kind of a long time. People not listed as having descendants actually do; largely this is just so Rue can figure out how Zach and Melanthos the Mysterious are related, and thus they haven't all been named yet.
