Out of Character
Mina first showed up as an NPC back on the 5th of February, 2007. Remained an NPC without even a wiki page until the 26th of May that same year. The two may or may not be related.
Beth blames Rue for the de-NPCization. And that's totally a word.

Detailed Information
Physical Description
Mina stands about 5'7" in bare feet (... which is most of the time), with dusky skin and black hair and brown eyes. She is very much her mother's daughter; her eyes are a lighter brown, but other than that you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at her that she's half Irish. Her hair is about shoulder-length, most of the time, and she has a very athletic build.
Personal Information
Like basically all her mother's family ever (except those who married the wrong species), Mina is a jaguar. In her case, she also gets to be called a black panther if she wants! Lucky her.
Backstory
Grew up in Mexico City, not unlike a princess, with an older brother and (eventually) three younger sisters. All was well and good until she was about ten, when her parents had a horrible fight, but they got over it without really bothering to explain it. When she was twelve, among the many other changes happening to her body, she turned into a jaguar, but that wasn't all that surprising. When she was fifteen she did have a surprise, a fairly horrible one at that – she caught her big brother reading her journal. And she didn't like it much, so she attacked him, which in itself probably wasn't all that much of a surprise either. Her ability to shift in midair and the way she nearly clawed his leg off was a surprise, to him, to her, to their entire family. Her mother's quick thinking managed to save Lindsey (and, for the most part, his leg); Mina was grounded for approximately the next thirty-seven years.
That was also about the time she found out that her brother was actually autistic, and by the time she was done learning what that meant she realized that that explained a lot, really. She immediately appointed herself his caretaker, since she'd nearly killed him and really owed him quite a lot; being fifteen at the time this wasn't actually all that appreciated, since he was still somewhat upset at her, but eventually they managed to work out their apologies at least.
About eight months later, Lindsey left for Los Angeles, to attend the University of Southern California. Cue panic for everyone else, in a quiet and understated way; USC required its incoming freshman to stay in the dorms, as many universities did (and still do), and Lindsey wasn't going to be an exception. Not yet, at any rate.
By the time Mina turned 16, she'd finished high school – with the equivalent of a GED. That was fine, because that meant that by late December she could move to Los Angeles, along with Lindsey's best friend Jesus and his girlfriend Marisa (whose parents strongly objected). The three of them found a three-bedroom apartment as close to the USC campus as they could manage, and Lindsey's Christmas present was "hey okay so we're all moving in here together!"
Technically, for the spring term he was still living in the dorms (according to the school, at least). He stopped in occasionally to check to see if anyone had sent him mail, but that was about it. His roommate was thrilled at the idea of a "free" single, and didn't object to Lindsey's departure at all.
The next five or so years were fun, in a distracted sort of way. Mina ended up idly taking a few classes at USC too, so that she and her brother could walk to campus together, and then she accidentally realized that she almost had a bachelor's degree already. By the time he graduated with his MFA in music, and she with her BS (an appropriate degree), it was to realize that she was all set up to continue her studies and head towards an MBA.
Except for the part where every other Future MBA Student she'd met was a stuffed shirt and boring as hell and she wasn't actually interested, anyway.
Soon after, Lindsey relocated himself to London, without actually bothering to discuss it overmuch with his family. As a result, it took a while for Mina to follow him, and a few weeks after that before Jesus and Marisa managed to make it overseas (mostly because Marisa was the only one of them who didn't have citizenship somewhere other than Mexico, and also had the most over-controlling parents).
At some unknown point in the future, Mina will presumably go back to Mexico and take over the family business – her mother's family, not her father's. Technically this means she's a drug cartel princess. She didn't pay attention to it for a long time, until one too many conversations with Clay MacGruder went by – and then she managed to persuade her family that they could probably make about as much money if they started mass-producing their very special tequila drink. (Think "spirits of wine" and then ... well, get a freezer that will mostly freeze tequila, and if you can find one of those, you're on your way to making your own.)
Certain branches of the family aren't too pleased, as they rather liked being part of a drug cartel, but Mina can sleep at night (and during any given hour of the day if prompted), so she's happier that they're not producing tar heroin anymore. Also, the Spirit Of Tequila drink gets a really nifty bottle.
