Detailed Information
Physical Description
Tall (6'4"), spare, dirty blond hair, greygreen eyes. Angel! Thus, attractive. Looks about thirty-one, because he's done at least some work at making himself appear older than, say, twenty-one.
Personal Information
Kind of closed-off and quiet. He's intelligent, in an applied, hands-on sort of way. Gets along well enough with his coworkers, but isn't particularly friendly toward most people.
Backstory
Backstory: Simplified
Ivan Jordan is a very sweet man with two very old families, the Rémis and the Brandts. Neither family has much of a habit of explaining that wacky "angel" thing to their kids before manifestation, so Ivan didn't know for a very long time.
When he was eighteen, he was living with his parents in a village in Northumberland. Things were quiet there, it was pretty, and more importantly there was a beautiful girl named Elsa he fell madly in love with. He, like most of his father's family at least, was very much a romantic. The fact that she seemed to return his affections just made him happier. And then she told him that they'd had something of a slip, and she was pregnant, and he was more than happy to marry her right away and take her with him to live in London, where it was quite easy for him to get a job to support them, through the quiet help of his great-grandfather.
Then, when his little daughter Téa was about a year and a half old, he found himself in New York with her and Elsa, visiting his extended family. And his Aunt Jane pulled him into the kitchen, leaving Elsa and Téa in the living room, and rather gently explained to him that there wasn't any chance at all ever in any universe that Téa was his daughter.
The resulting tumultous emotions managed to knock Ivan for a little bit more than just a loop, and also accidentally broke a chair, when he first manifested at the age of twenty-one. New York did not enjoy pleasant weather for the rest of the weekend, despite the attempts of the rest of his family to cheer him up and fix it.
And then he stayed with Elsa anyway, until Téa was three and she decided she wanted a divorce, because his little girl, who wasn't his, was still adorable, and loved him very much, and even though he didn't love Elsa anymore he did love Téa. After the divorce, while the girls stayed in London, he ended up going to join his parents where they'd relocated to Scotland, and after a while and some persuasion enrolled in university, getting a degree in mechanical engineering.
About ten years after that, having spent time in Scotland and in France and in a few other places in Europe as well, he relocated to North America, to Montreal in Québec where he could keep practicing the French he'd learned as a result of his family, working for the city. He hasn't seen his daughter since, which makes him sad, but he hasn't seen her mother, either, which makes him... less sad. Seeing Elsa, and what she's become since divorcing him, makes his blood boil. Not literally. But close.
Working for the city, Ivan is content enough. It's not thrilling, but it is interesting. He's picking up quite a lot of strange stories to tell... if he only had anyone to tell them to.
