Hans

One of the two Boer servants living and working in the Fitzwilliam Estate in the late nineteenth century. He and Willie were incredibly close and quite sexual, but both boys were also involved with Benjamin Fitzwilliam.

Hans, who was taller than Willie but thinner and easier to get along with, became the unwilling victim of Geoffrey Fitzwilliam. He was molested and raped almost daily for months until Geoffrey became jealous after discovering Hans and Willie's relationship with Geoffrey's brother, Benjamin, and killed both servants and Benjamin, as well as many others, before turning the gun on himself.

He spoke primarily Afrikaans.
