Out of Character

Every game needs a villian. Frank was one of the original A Field Sable characters. His backstory with Avery evolved heavily during their time at AFS and he was once played by another person, though he was Scout's creation. Now she plays him.

Detailed Information

Physical Description

Frank is a 6'5" wall of muscle. During his time in jail, he spent a lot of his free time working out, which bulked him up incredibly. His upper body is also covered in tattoos. Most of them have major significance or tell stories. The tattoos cover his arms, chest, stomach, back and part of his neck and hands. He once had multiple piercings, but the only ones that remain are his eyebrow stud, labret and right ear lobe.

He has thick, black hair and a roughly handsome appearance, with dark blue eyes that are usually fairly expressionless.

Don't be fooled by his seemingly indifferent demeanor. He once had a temper that landed him in jail. Of course, the drugs didn't really help his case. He is an incredibly intimidating person to encounter.

Personal Information

As stated, Frank once had a very bad temper. Jail took it out of him, but he's quite judgmental, though he keeps his opinions to himself. He doesn't say very much and no longer enjoys the thought of being in a serious relationship.

Though he isn't a recluse, he tends to spend much of his time alone with his white cat.

He works at Fabric, a club in London, and has a rather nice, very white apartment nearby. And a white cat to go along with it.

Backstory

When Frank was young, his father was killed in an auto accident on his way to work. Noah was a rich but down-to-earth man who was very close to his only child and very much adoring of his wife. Frank was to go to Eton, where his father had gone, and the money left with them after Noah's death was enough to get Frank through schooling with extras to keep him in the company of the rich and affluent students he was encountering.

However, Noah's death left a very bad mark on Frank. He retreated into himself but his mother, who was not any better off than her son, didn't notice. He made new friends outside of school and turned to drugs and drinking and other promiscuous behavior. He got tattoos where the beaks at Eton wouldn't see, but soon didn't care.

They had to move to a cheaper home in order to get the most out of the money left to them. Helen had to take up a job, the first one she ever held. And as she had not finished university, finding things that paid well and were within her range of ability was incredibly difficult. She worked two at some points, not coming home until after midnight.

Luckily, she thought, Frank was away at school most of the time.

But by the time he was sixteen, Frank was not the same boy he had been before his father's death. That summer, a college friend of Helen's, Claire Driscoll, left her son with them for a few weeks before the start of term. Helen had volunteered due to the fact that Avery Driscoll was young and had only been to England once in his life. They agreed that giving him time to get used to his surroundings would help his transition to Eton College be much easier.

Unfortunately, Frank got a hold of the boy, who looked too innocent and too pure to leave that way. He turned Avery to drugs and opened up his sexuality, eventually becoming Avery's first boyfriend.

Their relationship was terrible and Frank often took his anger out on Avery. He loved seeing the boy suffer because Frank had been suffering so quietly for so long. He physically and verbally abused Avery and kept him from forming any strong bonds with new people, lest they take Avery from him.

Fortunately, in 2004, Frank was finally arrested for assault and battery and possession of Class A drugs in his room at Eton and in his room at home. If they had caught him selling, he would have been in even deeper trouble, but as it was, they sentenced him to five years behind bars.

But Frank changed. Within months he was a different person. Quiet, reserved, intelligent. He expressed such remorse and never caused any conflicts to such an extent that he was granted release for good behavior a year later. He bought a flat and began looking for work, and attempted to reconnect with his mother, whom he cooks for at least one night a week. He also made amends with Avery and now lives with the fear that he is capable of doing what he did to Avery to someone else. That fear has led him to refuse all relationships. He has slept with a couple of men and women but refused their phone numbers, their addresses and their friendships.

He still gets tattoos. His newest was a pair of wings on his back, symbolizing Avery (he has many that symbolize Avery, and even has Avery's thirteen year old portrait on his right forearm). He doesn't know that Avery is an angel, only that he survived the hell Frank put him through.

Frank is determined never to forgive himself.

Backstory: Simplified

Frank was Avery Driscoll's first boyfriend and only ex. He was abusive and angry and wound up in jail. He now lives a reformed life and works at a London nightclub, Fabric.
