Physical Description
Fabian is six feet tall, give or take part of an inch – no, definitely give him the part of the inch – and slender. Angular. He's one of those gangly boys who is better described as long than tall; pretty much everything about him is long. (Yes, dirty-minded sorts, even that, but it isn't pornstar long.) Long fingers, long legs, long arms, long tongue (he can touch his nose and his chin and lick his elbow!), and yet not a very long nose, more a slightly pointy one. He has a lot of hip for a guy and is proud of them. They give him a great swagger when he's trying to prance about proving a point, something he does with great frequency.
His hair is black (not dark brown, but black) and spiked, without being short. It's a bit of a shaggy spike, but sticks up in the spikes naturally unless it's wet, in which case he looks a little bit like a drowned rat with hat hair. His skin's a bit pale and he does not freckle at all, nor tan, in the sun.
Those eyes of his are a very bright electric blue, while still managing not to be strong. They're angel's eyes, all right, still light-colored, but you could find them in a crowd.
Fabian's dressing style tends toward 'showy business casual' – he is not afraid to wear Armani under a labcoat and often does. He generally dresses in dark colors. He is entirely aware that he is Ethereally, Stunningly Attractive, and happy to take every advantage.
Personal Information
Fabian is the director, chairman and manager of Capio Healthcare, a premiere hospital group in the United Kingdom. He's not a doctor, psychiatrist or otherwise, though parts of him would like to be. Responsibility is not really something that Fabian is as cut out for as he'd like to be, either – despite being a fantastic dad, he's not really super big on acting like an adult.
He has a terrible soft spot for Lindt chocolates, and by "soft spot" we mean "obsession."
Backstory
Born to unmarried but committed parents in 1984, Fabian Fitzwilliam – deemed with the unfortunate middle name of Ferris (landing him with the initials of 'FFF') due to his father's strange sense of humor – grew up about as privleged as it got. With his father as the chairman of a long and large chain of hospitals across the UK and his mother a diamond heiress, the family was never short of money or sources of entertainment. His father had an old cottage in Alnwick that Fabian spent his early childhood in – a cottage whose large ghost populace brought him plenty of entertainment as a small boy.
They moved to London full-time when Fabian was three, while maintaining Comus House as a holiday home – just in time, really, for him to be in his cousin Claire's wedding to John Driscoll a year later. He started attending a Hampstead private school, Lyndhurst Prep, when he turned five. Well-liked by most of his classmates and reassured by his parents that the only ones who didn't like him were guided by jealousy of his intelligence, good looks and wealth, he went through the transitions up the grades and to Eton College at the end of his 13th year very easily, both emotionally and educationally. Having friends was half of what kept Fabian going, his family the other half.
The best thing that happened to Fabian in the early years of life as far as he was concerned was the first time he ever visited his mother's old home in South Africa. He got to meet his younger cousins, 5-year-old Avery and 3-year-old James. (Claire was pregnant with Bess at the time.) He learned how to say "ek nie praat nie Afrikaans," which is still the only Afrikaans he knows to this day. Alice and Robert managed to take him to visit the Driscolls every couple of England winters, but once Fabian had started at Eton, he stopped visiting as much.
Secondary school was a real exciting social event for Fabian – while his grades were never bad, people were always quite a bit more interesting to him. When he was fifteen, two exciting things happened – he got his wings (thankfully while visiting with his parents, and not in school) and his first boyfriend, a Russian classmate named Nicola Ivanova. Toward the end of that year, Nic, as Fabian called him, got very sick and died. Fabian became very depressed, the weather got very bad, and Robert, having had enough, taught him to be able to visit the boy. Still, this was both the first and the last serious relationship Fabian ever had, and tiny pieces of him still haven't recovered.
More likely in spite of the trauma than because of it, though, by the time Fabian was sixteen he was very sexually promiscuous. Popular with boys and girls and men and women all alike, it was never hard for him to be, either. (There is an incident involving a French teacher frequently cited amongst old close friends and schoolmates. Nobody's validated if it's true yet.)
Upon finishing at Eton, Fabian spent four months in university before quickly deciding it wasn't for him, and began to train under his father to manage Capio Nightingale. Instead, by the time he was 19 Fabian was on his way to managing the entire system, as his father, needing a break from life and the world, crossed over. He was happy to work in his father's stead, despite his age, and only managed to really screw up with the affair he'd had with psychiatric ward patient Varice Senec, resulting in his first child, daughter Ilaria.
Other stuff happened here, pretty much all of 2006 and 2007 of the game. Uh. This will get written in at some point, too! Now, though, he lives in a townhouse in London sometimes and Comus House sometimes and has full custody of Ilaria. He sees Rosemary, his youngest daughter, sometimes also.
