Character Basket

Where you go to put a character up for adoption, or snag a character to adopt.
FOR ANYONE LISTING A CHARACTER, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A WIKI PAGE FOR THEM! JUST POST THEIR INFORMATION HERE! Rue's server need only handle so much!
Also!
If you want someone to play a character for backstory purposes only, you're going to want to make sure you mention it here and in great detail.

For Prospective Players
Most of these characters have a connection to a character currently in the game. However, that doesn't mean that they have a lot of backstory or that the player putting them up for adoption even knows anything about them. Ones that do have extensive backstory in the game, or have appeared in the game in any form, will be marked as such.
To place an inquiry (oh the formality!), email addresses are provided for the player who has put the character(s) up for adoption. Simply ask and you shall receive. This means that you get to skip the actual application.
If you are uncertain as to whether or not you'll end up taking a character, we will still mark it. The key is below. Characters who remain uncomfirmed for more than a week, unless an exception has been made, will return to the black market.
IMPORTANT! Individual characters always belong to their creators, so if you choose someone off this list, they will stay with the game should you leave (unless something is worked out between you and the creator). Likewise, if you create the character yourself (and there are opportunities to do that using this list), then that character is yours. Ask if you want clarification.

For Dirty Life
Prospective performers at The Burlesk House. Please take a look at the Acts Wanted.
Regulars at The Wooing Maiden Inn and Pub, for the sake of good old bar times now and again. They should at least be in their 30s.
Dancers at Claire Camden's not-for-profit classical ballet studio in Cape Town. The demographic for this is underprivileged children (the youngest she takes is age three) and adults (she has adult classes and teen classes for beginners in addition to the more serious classes that actively train disadvantaged kids for a chance to join professional ballet companies and schools). She can't yet offer room for boarders, but she's working on it. The school's wiki is here: Fitzwilliam School of Ballet and Performing Arts

Andy's Friends
Randolf Fitzwilliam met all of these young men either before or during his time at Eton. The only one not listed here is Graeme Carter, who was Andy's bff above bffs. As a group, they tended to do quite a lot together, including traveling through America after the end of their final year at Eton. This trip resulted in Andy meeting Isabella Radcliffe in Chicago.
The catch with these boys is that all except Neville fought during WWII, and all except Neville died. Most of these boys will have gone into the RAF with Andy, but not all. Some were married, some weren't.
However, before their deaths, they led pretty colorful, affluent lives in London's young aristocracy. Most were pretty heavy partiers, and only a few actually took serious paying jobs after school ended. All of them except Neville went through military school of some sort, or trained on the eve of WWII.
All of these boys were born between August 1909 and August 1910, to align them with Andy's class level.
Neville Christopher Edward Warrington: Like Graeme, Neville probably met Andy before Eton. Was a member of the Howard family on one side or the other. Had a hearing problem that began to plague him during his time at Eton. Began with tinnitus in his right ear, then poor hearing in his right ear and tinnitus in his left. Was bad enough to keep him out of action during WWII. This ultimately saved his life, considering the fate of everyone else. Went totally deaf by the 1960s, but his hearing was so bad beforehand he was expecting it. Considered to be one of the gentler personalities in the group. Remained extremely close to Andy and his family for the rest of their lives.

Thomas Butler: Uncle of Kevin Butler, married Francis' sister Rowan in 1930.

Uilliam (William) Ó Ciardha:
1920s Chicago
Isabella Radcliffe lived in Chicago from 1928 to 1930. She performed at The Pearl Theater and the Chicago Theatre while there. We'd love to have mobsters, performers, cops, innocents, you name it.
Michael Ryczek: A former banker who carries on an overly sexual relationship with Isabella while teaching her better grammar and written English.
1930s New York
After leaving Chicago, Isabella performed with the Ziegfeld Follies in New York City for the 1931 revue. She lived in the city for about two years, from the end of 1930, through the end of 1932. During her time, she performed not only with the Follies, but with other smaller and larger venues, did radio, and went to dozens of clubs. We'd be thrilled to have performers, aristocrats, club hoppers, celebrities of the silver screen, and anything else that would fit into the wild show business environment.
This also includes life-long friends of the family, who would attend parties in both London and New York.
