Canon generally refers to what is known to be true in a story/TV show/film. The official crap. Fact. In Dirty Life, canon is a bit more fluid and can change quite easily. This is because we are an original game, so the canon is in the hands of the players only.

When something becomes non-canon due to any event (such as someone changing backstory, someone leaving, someone having second thoughts), a retcon can occur to wipe it away. Non-canon events either turn AU or simply cease to exist.
